Thunder is scary
I am terrified of thunder. Especially when it lasts for hours and shakes the house, like this storm did. I took a little video. The picture sucks, but you can hear how loud the storm was. Crazy!
Puppy sitting
We had a little mini client named Sasha staying with us this weekend. She is the cutest four-month-old Alaskan Malamute puppy, although she's really not that small. She ran and played and added such a fun little element to our weekend. Here she is in action with Del and Lucy.

We found good Mexican food in Colorado!
It's been a long and arduous battle, but we finally found ourselves a good taco stand here in Colorado that easily matches up to California mexican food. It was awesome! It's called Tacos Rapidos and it was indeed fast. The "Colorado" burrito (basically a California burrito in this state for those that like the potato-laden kind) was delicious and the rolled tacos with guac brought me straight back to the Santana's on Morena Blvd. I feel so satiated right now and totally didn't even mind the 30-minute drive to get there and eat in the parking lot. It was totally worth it, dude, totally.

This is my promise...
I am going to more shows this summer if it kills me! I miss the residual hearing loss too much.

Dogs and birds might mix
I set Wilson on the counter when I got home and the dogs kept looking at me like, "Why did you bring dinner home in a cage?" They haven't taken their eyes off of him since then, but they've grown accustomed to his singing and they chill out when he's hanging out at the top of his cage.

Wilson is in love with himself
We're babysitting Wilson while his parents are away and he just discovered himself in the mirror and thinks that he is AMAZING!

We didn't light anything on fire this time
While the giant sparklers may have been responsible for starting a fire on our wedding day, the leftovers were great fun almost a year later in my parents' driveway. We managed to keep smoke and fire away from valuable items. Ranj was watched even more carefully than anyone else, but she kept her behaved hat on.

Beautiful people
It was so much fun being in San Diego. After being away for so long, it felt like being in Hawaii with the moist air and the nice warm ocean breezes. It's so funny how you appreciate a place and a group of friends and family so much more after you leave! We started the weekend with separate boys/girls days but ended that Saturday with an amazing dinner at Bentley's in Rancho Santa Fe. It was amazing food, great drinks and even better company, thanks to Papa and Mama Cook.

"I alone love you!"
Today I spent about 20-30 minutes (conservative estimate) of my very valuable time creating a mediocre '90s mixtape. Now, the creation of a mixtape is a very subtle art form. So the creation of the following playlist came at great expense. Great expense and hard work in sequencing and balance. If you want a CDR of the following creation, comment back and it'll be on its way. Enjoy:
1. Clumsy by Our Lady Peace
2. Plowed by Sponge
3. You by Candlebox
4. Shimmer by Fuel
5. I Alone by Live
6. Hey Man, Nice Shot by Filter
7. Tomorrow by Silverchair
8. Stars by Hum
9. Runaway Train by Soul Asylum
10. In the Meantime by Spacehog
11. Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods
12. The World I Know by Collective Soul
13. Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm by Crash Test Dummies
I like my grand finale in CTD. Mmmmm, it goes down smooth.

You can find me here now
Since I haven't been freelance writing or staff writing or contributing writing much anymore, or at all for that matter, my eponymous domain has been sitting empty and un-updated for far too long. So I converged those that click there onto my lovely blog. At least I know I'll update this. Someday I'll come up with a super-internet-dash that helps me manage my blog, my facebook, my twitter, my business website, my personal website and all the emails that I have floating around out there.

Today is a very stressful day. I'm not finding any relief from some very unfair landlords and have been advised by an attorney to take them to court. That'll be no fun. I also don't think there is any other way to get out of it. Plus, I'd really like my little pet sitting business CLEAR CREEK PET CARE to take off so that I can just do that for the summer, but I'm not that optimistic. Does anyone have any search engine optimization techniques?? Or a temporary loan?! :) At least we have each other. (Or at least that's what I've heard other people say when they just want to lay down and close their eyes for fear of monetary failure and legal action!)

Clear Creek Pet Care is up and running
Alas, in this kind of economy, you don't find a job, you make your own. So I pulled together everything I've learned about animals in the last 28 years and launched Clear Creek Pet Care, an animal sitting and dog walking business serving customers in the Golden, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Arvada, Denver and Broomfield areas of Colorado. I'm so excited about this new venture and ready for the work ahead. My love of animals and my work ethic should combine to make this a great new phase.
Please go check out our new website at www.clearcreekpetcare.com and tell everyone you know in Colorado about this cool new pet service!
