First night down (Philly report)

Considering that this is the first night on the Isaak tour and this is my first time trying to manage a large-scale tour opener, I feel pretty good that there were only two giant mishaps. First, the merch never arrived at the venue. Not my fault, but still embarrassing nonetheless. Then Anya accidentally forgot her wardrobe in the hotel (45 minutes away!) so I had to rush down and get it before the set started. I made it, she looked great and the first night of the Isaak tour is checked off with a nice little gold star. (I guess it wouldn't be "checked" per say, but starred.)

Had a nice little catered backstage dinner with the crew and Isaak joined in. We learned that his mother hates his "rock star attitude" and that he is fond of his home town of Stockton. He told many stories, most of which I was focused on, and through the rest I stared at his perfect hair. I tried to get some photos in the theatre but it was too dark for my little Canon. Anya played a quick half-hour set to great applause and the lads lined up in droves to have her sign their CDs (the few we had on hand) at the merch table.

I really need to go to bed since I've been up for nearly 20 hours now and I'm getting a little loopy. More updates tomorrow from the Newport Summer Music Festival, a beautiful Rhode Island venue at the marina, which totally reminds me of Humphrey's. I'm wearing my flip flops.

XOXO
